Younique Pigment First Impression!

Hi everyone!
Today I got a chance to try a brand that is completely new to me, Younique

I'm usually a tad skeptical about Multi-Level Marketing(MLM) Companies i.e Avon and Scentsy

however, I was lucky enough to receive 4 mineral-based pigment samples from a generous member of the same makeup-loving Facebook group as me so I decided to give it a try!

She actually sent them last month but I ended up on a mini vacation to Sault Ste Marie and completely forgot to try them when I got back!! So, as you can imagine, it felt like Christmas when I finally discovered them sitting un used in my makeup drawer!

Once I realized I had them, I rushed over to the beautiful +Shelby Ann G 's house to play with them!

Shelby's boyfriend Wayne even offered up his 15 year old daughter to be our canvas!

At first I was a little scared to try these on someone else because as some of you know, pigments can be a bit tricky and without practice they can be a little messy!
From Left to Right; Curious,Sexy,Confident and Devious

I originally received these samples in foil packets but Shelby had a few empty sample containers laying around so we just emptied each of them into their own little pots for easier use!(pictured above)

The pigments are sold for $10 each and they do come in a cute little jar with plenty of product!

We decided to use all of them in one look because they all complimented each other beautifully.

We started off by priming the eyelid, we then dampened an eyeshadow brush for brighter pigmentation.

The payoff was surprisingly fantastic, so vibrant and very shimmery.

Here are a few swatches to show you with and without the use of water!
The colours were beautiful!

  • Curious (pearl white) was the perfect highlight colour for the inner corners.
  • Sexy (light beige)  was really pretty as an all over lid colour.
  • Confident (Olive brown) was a gorgeous colour that I used for the crease.
  • Devious (Black) was the most shocking, I used this on the upper lash line. It was so dark that one swipe with an angled brush looked like a solid black line of liquid liner.
The smallest bit goes a long way,
These little samples are definitely going to last me a while!

I am already a huge fan of the MAC pigments but these honestly rival them at a fraction of the price.

These pigments are also 100% natural, Chemical-free, talc free and have no perfumes or synthetic dyes!

If you do try these out wet like I did please remember that once they're on they aren't moving.
The swatch of Devious(Black) I did stayed on my hand for the entire rest of the day!

For blending, you're going to want to use a little bit of dry pigment over top to get some movement!

Unfortunately my iPhone just doesn't cut it so these pictures really aren't picking up how truly gorgeous they looked in person.

I really need a proper camera! I promise that is on my to-do list!

Hope you enjoyed this first impression!
