Pixi Wakeup Concealer Review and Mini-Rant.

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to be reviewing a brand that I've just had no luck with EVER!

The wakeup concealer from Pixi by Petra.

This concealer was on clearance at Target for $5 so, I figured I'd give Pixi another try.

In the past I've found their mascara to be super dry and their cheek gel very short lasting.

I want to love Pixi but I haven't yet found a product that works for me!

Concealer is a different type of product than the others so I figured maybe this is where Petra steps up her game and Pixi shines (It's gotta be somewhere If they're charging almost high end prices at Target!).

Here's what I found I liked best:
  • Cute and easy to use click tube packaging with a built in brush
  • The consistency is creamy
  • Lasts throughout the day

Things I didn't like:

The coverage was ok but still not the greatest, and the worst part?

The smell.

Oh, man! I'm not trying to nitpick but the smell is potent! It's like clay mixed with pennies mixed with a little fish.

I emailed the company to see if maybe I had gotten a bad batch and was told the smell is an amino acid called Carnosine. It's used for anti-aging but gives off a fishy smell.

That's all fine and dandy but really Petra? Given the choice, I know you're not about to smear fish-pennies all over your face.

Had I paid the regular $20 price tag I would have been a little more "I can't even" about this whole situation but, for $5 it's not worth it.

I'm more annoyed that they would even think it's remotely reasonable to charge people $20 for this shit.

So, Pixi by Petra gets another thumbs down
and to you, Petra,  I can't even.

;)

Have you tried any good Pixi products that are worth buying? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
